A Client's Perspective
"Cornerstone Consultants offers not only a wealth of skills, experience and sound judgment, but also a depth of understanding about the unique challenges facing nonprofit and philanthropic organizations. Mary Virtue has helped us to design and facilitate strategic planning, program design and evaluation projects. In each case, she has employed well-considered, yet flexible methods aimed at making our work more effective, inside and out. She has engaged our stakeholders in ways that represented our program in a positive, thoughtful manner. Her synthesis of varying perspectives, combined with succinct, action-oriented suggestions, has been invaluable. Her commitment to organizational and collaborative learning is unmatched. And, at the end of the day, Mary is a pleasure to work with because she produces—always on-time, always accountable, always results-oriented."

Carol Coren was an early advisor for our organizational development efforts and helped us envision how community groups and committed individuals can revitalize the food system of Northern Oregon's coastal counties. She understood the important roles that reconnecting with our historical and cultural food traditions would have on regional community development efforts and appreciated the links between health, wellness, self sufficiency and food security. Her workshop on cooperative development gave our stakeholders new perspectives and information to make informed business decisions. She consulted with Food Roots on entrepreneurship, innovative business models, and organizational assessment, assisting our efforts to create organizational capacity in one of America's most economically depressed and challenged regions.
